Rica is now 10 years old and enjoying her retirement we bought her from Diane Hutson in Bolsover, Derbyshire. Diane used our Benson to her bitch in 1999 and we liked the pedigree and the litter so decided to have Rica . Whilst we didn't show her as we were too busy campaigning Benson to his crown at the time and couldn't afford to show two Rica proved to be a great brood bitch and is mother to Nearctic Emperor's Daughter (sootie), Nearctic Sadik (owned by Michelle and Craig Watkinson) and Nearctic One Wish ( owned by Phil Reynolds) all of whom have been winners at Championship /open show level.

RICA ENJOYING HER RETIREMENT
Sootie (Nearctic Emperor's daughter) is now 5 years old and has joined her mum in retirement. She is called Sootie as she has very dark face markings .Sootie is the loveable rogue of the family and likes nothing better than to pretend she can't hear you when you call her but fortunately she only does this when she is at home . She is a lovely natured girl and a pleasure to live with, she spends most of her day out in the grass run playing with her mum Rica and our other girl Flo Jo. Sootie has produced some super puppies for us and we hope to have her for many years to come.
It is with great sadness that I now write this paragraph in Sootie's story we have now lost our precious girl at only 5 years old she was due to have her second litter and everything was going fine until the day she was due to have them when we noticed that she was drinking far too much water we rushed her to the vets who did an immediate e-section all of Sootie's babies were dead she had had an ectopic pregnancy with one of the puppies and this had very gradually killed her babies. The vet came to say what had happened and that he wasn't happy with Sootie but too take her home and see how it all went. We nursed her night and day for 7 weeks and on the day her babies would have gone to their new homes she passed away in my arms. We love and miss you to this day Sootie our loveable rogue if only you could have told me what was going on inside you.
